Teresa Burns has been named Associate Coordinator Formation, Dominican Center Marywood.
“As she comes alongside our Formation team at Dominican Center we envision her presence enriching our programs, retreats and prayer practices with her depth and wisdom,” says Mindy Hills, Director of Dominican Center Marywood.
Teresa will also serve as Associate Coordinator of Liturgical Life for the Dominican Sisters ~ Grand Rapids. She will support Liturgical Life Director Janet Brown, OP, with developing and coordinating liturgy for the Congregation of the Dominican Sisters~Grand Rapids at Chapel of the Word and St. Catherine of Sienna Chapel.
“We welcome Teresa! With her qualifications, and her positive attitude, she is just what we need. We are very happy to have her with us,” said Sr. Janet.
Teresa is an Associate with the Servants of Jesus and is on mission to live their charism of “living as Jesus lived, serving as Jesus served, and loving as Jesus loves.” As a spiritual director, speaker, and faith guide, Teresa invites people to notice the Presence of God within them and around them.
Teresa completed the Spiritual Direction Practicum at Dominican Center in 2023. She holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Religious Studies and Sociology from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids and a Masters of Arts in Pastoral Theology from St. Mary-of-the-Woods College in Terre Haute, IN.
Teresa has worked in parish faith formation ministries for over 40 years. She loves reading, connecting with God in nature, and engaging in praying with and learning through Scripture. She practices and invites others to explore the prayer of silence and strives to live as a contemplative in action.
