I came, I saw, God conquered! Who would have thought that five decades later God would be so persistent in showering me with graces – and that I would now be celebrating my Golden Jubilee. As Cardinal Leger said, the gift we have made (of ourselves) is a gift we have been given. My continued gratitude to God – and to my community, family, friends.
Alice Goeldel was born August 29, 1938 to Lawrence and Sophia Kowalski Goeldel of Grand Rapids, Michigan. After graduation from Catholic Central High School, she worked in the school office for four years and entered the Dominican community in 1959, receiving the name Sister Regina Mary of St. Joseph.
After receiving her BA in Business Administration, she served at Marywood as central office secretary for over twenty years, with a six-year stint in between as administrative assistant at Immaculate Heart of Mary. By 1990, Sister Regina was ready for a change and spent ten years at Aquinas College in the Advising Center. She then accepted a position as secretary for St. Pius X Parish in Grandville, Michigan.
Today, she is a treasured member of the Ministry Advancement and Communications Departments at Marywood. She is efficient, gracious, and always willing to take on a new task.
Her interests include lap weaving, reading, enjoying a beautiful sunset, good music and popcorn with friends. “I’m a woman of few words. . . I came and saw, and He conquered.”
