The candles of Advent remind us of Christ-Light, Light of Life. The ritual of lighting the candles, contemplating the movement from darkness to light, the meaning of Christmas and birth of our Savior. Each person is the living legacy of Jesus, who commissions us to be Christ-Light in our world. Join the Dominican Sisters ~ Grand Rapids during these coming weeks of Advent, as we contemplate this prayer — as we pray for Christ-Light during this Holy Season — and for all days to come.

Christ-Light, we crave Your Holy Light.
Shine in our darkness.

During this Advent Season,
Be with us.
As, together, we shine Christ-Light
Wherever we may be.

Christ-Light, we crave Your Holy Light.
Shine in our darkness.

Christ-Light of Hope
Grace us with Courage and Words of Truth.

Christ-Light, we crave Your Holy Light.
Shine in our darkness.

Christ-Light of Peace
Heal our divisions and Deepen our understanding.

Christ-Light, we crave Your Holy Light.
Shine in our darkness.

Christ-Light of Joy
Stretch our arms to the margins and grant us forgiveness. Help us sow Justice. Prepare us to bring Joy to the World.

Christ-Light, we crave Your Holy Light.
Shine in our darkness.

Christ-Light of Love
Enlarge our hearts and borders in welcome.

You commission us to be Christ-Light in our world.
Bestow your Gifts upon us this Holy Season:
Wisdom, Kindness, Mercy, Justice,
Healing, Wonder, and Gratitude.

Christ-Light, we crave Your Holy Light.
Shine in our darkness.

Light of the Living God, Come. Shine in our darkness. Amen.
Christ-Light, Come. Illumine us with your Love. Amen.
O Emmanuel, God is with us. We Rejoice. Amen.
