Our world in so many ways and in so many places, in so many hearts and in so many bodies, is crying out for help. We are grateful for this space of peace and openness as national election process unfolds in the United States. Based on our confidence in the power of prayer and contemplation, we welcome all to join — together across generations, religions, and political affiliations — to pray for peace and wise discernment.

The Dominican Sisters of Grand Rapids and the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR) invite you to contemplative prayer during the Democratic National Convention, as we did during the U.S. Republican National Convention. Our Congregation will also join this virtual prayer space during the days of the National Election.

LCWR has created this virtual prayer space to mirror the practice of adoration familiar to many of us. During those times we will pray for the discernment of delegates, voters, and elected officials; peace and non-violence in the process of nomination and election; and the transformation necessary for each of us in this time of polarization and division.
