On Saturday, June 29, 2024, the Dominican Sisters ~ Grand Rapids Congregation will gather in Chapel of the Word/Marywood.
During this service, Sisters will share appreciation for the service of the outgoing Leadership Team, the 29th elected council since the first in 1892.
This Leadership Team’s term encompassed establishing the Grand Rapids Dominican Sisters Foundation, the sale of the Motherhouse building, the subsequent move of Sisters and offices to multiple locations, and the most intense months of the Covid pandemic.
“We are full of gratitude to these dynamic women who led so capably and compassionately during exceedingly challenging times. We welcome this opportunity to prayerfully and joyfully thank them and wish them every good thing as they embark on their next adventures!” shared Sister Barbara Hansen, herself a former prioress who served from1994 to 2000.
Sandra Delgado, O.P., prioress; Sister Joan Williams, O.P., vicaress; Sister Maureen Geary, O.P., councilor; Sister Megan McElroy, O.P., councilor, have served a term from 2018 – 2024.
