Sue Schroder Remembers Sr. Sue Tracy,OP with Friends from Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids
Sister Sue Tracy had a gift for reinflating my newly-diagnosed-with-cancer numb newbie-self, and miracle of miracles, making me laugh.
Grand Rapids Dominican Sister Sue Tracy, with Kermit-esque pal, received the first Spirit of Gilda’s Award presented by Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids on Nov. 12, 2015.
Turns out I was among hundreds, maybe thousands, who learned from Sister Sue how to live with cancer — joyously and fully through the bad times and good.
With the support of Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids, some of my fellow club members and I will share her legacy of hope beginning today through June 29 – the day she died a year ago.
