by Sister Janet Brown, OP
Advent is my favorite season – it is a time of prayerful waiting and expectation.
Advent helps me take the time to sit and reflect. This gives me a sense of hope, even when times are filled with conflicts.
Michigan winters with snow gracing the landscape is breathtaking, crisp and refreshing!
My favorite Advent scripture passage is from Isaiah 11:
Then the wolf shall be a guest of the lamb
and the leopard shall lie down with the kid.
The calm and the young lion shall browse together, with a little child to guide them.
This is the Messianic dream. If only this could be the dream of our world.
This dream might seem impossible in these days of racism, conflict and prejudice.
But with hope we keep this as our focus and our vision.
And daily we take small steps toward making this vision, this hope, a reality!
