Catherine Anderson, OP, speaking on behalf of Pax Christi West Michigan, announces the start 30 Days of Peace this week.

“As a project of Pax Christi, we are inviting all to engage in actions that support PEACE: Prayer, Study, and Service,” says Sr. Catherine.

The calendar, pictured, provides suggestions of actions, including events, for individuals or groups.

“There is a different theme each week. The theme for the first week is Love and Respect,” says Sr. Catherine. Jesus says, “Love one another as I have loved you”. And a Sufi Wisdom says, “When the power of love overcomes the love of power, there will be true peace.” May these messages of Love provide meaningful inspiration as we begin living into 30 Days of Peace on Sunday, Sept. 1.

Copies of the 30-day calendar and a prayer card are available outside of Dominican Chapel/Marywood this Sunday and through the month, along with additional materials.

“For children and those who are young at heart, a set of peace pictures will be available for coloring or painting,” says Sr. Catherine, a contemplative artist. Another table of study material and suggested reading will be located in Dominican Center near the Bookstore.
