Sister Phyllis Supancheck Parkinsons Hero Walk

People living with Parkinson’s Disease can access more support thanks to “Hero Walkers'” fundraising efforts.

“Saturday was a wonderful day with the Parkinson’s community of Grand Rapids at the Michigan Parkinson’s Foundation Hero Walk,” said Sr. Phyllis Supancheck. “Aquinas College was the location of the event which offered space for people to walk indoors and outdoors.”

According to the Michigan Parkinson’s Foundation, “It was one big support group with everyone honoring the heroes in their lives. The event helps raise funds that allow the Foundation to continue critical programs and services free of charge.

“Parkinson’s is a progressive disease and I am doing everything I can to stay as healthy as possible,” says Sr. Phyllis, who walked a mile wearing a big smile Saturday. Her team, Sr Phyllis’ Stars have raised more than $4500.
