“Be still and know I am God.”

Grateful and thanks to God for the gifts, happiness, and blessings I have received these past 70 years. I have been blessed with loving and faithful parents, family, Dominican Sisters, and friends.

Theresa Marie, a twin of Sister Lydia, was born July 4, 1929, the eighth of twelve children born to Wencel and Ludmilla Korson of Gills Pier, Michigan. She attended both public and private schools and graduated from St. Mary’s Lake Leelanau. She attended Aquinas College and entered the Dominican Order in 1950 receiving the name Sister David Therese of the Child Jesus.

Sister David Therese earned her BA in History from Aquinas College, a certificate in Theology from Aquinas Theological Institute, and MA in Elementary Education from Michigan State University.

She taught in Grand Rapids, Beal City, Hart, and Saginaw for 14 years. Then served others with her leadership and administrative gifts for 35 years combined as principal at St. Catherine’s, Ravenna, St. Adalbert, Grand Rapids and St. Charles in Greenville.

Sister’s prayer and pastoral ministry at Marywood brings joy and comfort to so many Sisters and friends of the Congregation. Her get-to-it energy makes her a Godsend volunteering in the mailroom or baking pies, cookies, and kolache for the Sisters. Sister David Therese also enjoys sewing, knitting, cooking, gardening, and listening to music.

Sister David Therese Korson hired me to be her Kindergarten teacher at St. Charles in Greenville! I drove 35 miles, one way, for 12 years, because I loved being a part of this beautiful ladies life! She was an amazing administrator, and taught me so much! I’m so blessed that God gave me this experience!
