Lisa Mitchell, Director of Associate Life of the Dominican Sisters~Grand Rapids, hosts this information session on Tuesday, June 25 from 1:00-2:30 pm OR 6:30-8:00 pm at Dominican Center at Marywood (2025 Fulton East). If you would like to discover more about Associate Life, join us for an afternoon or evening of conversation.

Learn some of the ways that Associates live out their Baptismal call and joyfully preach the good news! Associates hear a call to a deeper holiness and express a desire for a formal but non-vowed affiliation with the Dominican Sisters~Grand Rapids. They nurture this call through the practices (pillars) of prayer, study, community and ministry (service). Associates will speak to how they live out these pillars in ways that align with their life: from single life, marriage, parenting, home life, work life, parish life, and retired life.

Dominican Associates are non-vowed women and men who desire to practice their Christian faith in the spirit of the Dominican Order of Preachers. They seek to be a power of good in the world, live out their Baptismal call, and preach the good news joyfully by word and deed. Currently there are 149 Dominican Associates who journey in solidarity with the Dominican Sisters of Grand Rapids and with one another. Our Associates are ecumenically diverse. Many live in Michigan, and participate in programs here at Dominican Center. Some worship with Sunday Assembly at Dominican Chapel. Others, formed in Grand Rapids through Dominican Associate Life, live farther afield; yet they maintain their connection and continue to inspire others with their Dominican spirit.
