This spring, the board of directors of the Grand Rapids Dominican Sisters Foundation celebrates the awarding of our first-ever grants. After careful review and consideration, the following three Michigan-based organizations were selected:
AYA Youth Collective / $10,000
Emmaus House / $10,000
Well House / $10,000
“We are profoundly inspired by these organizations whose teams work tirelessly to address homelessness and to meet the needs of our unhoused neighbors,” said Foundation board president Sr. Megan McElroy, O.P., “Their efforts mirror the kinds of ministries through which the Dominican Sisters have lived out their mission for over a century and reflect our Sisters’ deep commitment to care for the common good. We are grateful to partner with AYA Youth Collective, Emmaus House, and Well House in this way.”
Through the Foundation and with the help of friends and supporters who have been with us in mission since our earliest days, we will continue to bring our energy, our commitment, our voice, and our dollars to those who are at the forefront of service to God’s people. Through Foundation grantmaking, our hands become the hands of others, and the mission continues.
The Grand Rapids Dominican Sisters Foundation awards grants to organizations whose missions align with the Sisters’ values and with the tenets of Catholic Social Teaching and whose work focuses on areas that represent the Sisters’ ministries, past and present.
