Be praised, My Lord, through Sister Water; she is very useful, and humble, and precious, and pure.

CANTICLE OF THE SUN ~ St. Francis of Assisi
Praise for the rain that waters our fields,
and blesses our crops so all the earth yields;
from death unto life her mystery revealed
springs forth in joy!

“Water, Water Everywhere and Not a Drop to Drink” ~ Samuel T. Coleridge

Water is vital for drinking, crop irrigation, animal farming, industrial manufacturing and energy production, as well as cleaning and several other daily human activities. Yet access to safe drinkable water is a basic and universal human right, since it is essential to human survival of and, as such, is a condition for the exercise of other human rights.
