Almost exactly three years since the doors to Dominican Chapel/Marywood were closed because of the COVID 19 pandemic, members of the Sunday Assembly and Sisters gathered at Dominican Center Marywood at Aquinas College on Sunday, March 19, 2023, for re-uniting, re-connecting, and re-visioning.
Hugs, laughter, and tears punctuated stories told at tables– stories about what each had experienced, lost, and found since the abrupt closing of the chapel on March 13, 2020.
Deep gratitude was expressed for the experience of church we had at Dominican Chapel/Marywood for more than 35 years. We recognize that we have a gift that can be shared with the wider church. Participants also shared their hopes and desires to remain connected through communication, gatherings for community-building, common prayer, and doing justice work together.
The afternoon ended with a lovely Taize prayer led by Larry and Roberta Barton.
