The Order of Preachers was founded by St. Dominic to witness and to preach God’s Word. We, the daughters of Dominic, formed by the Word, dedicate our lives to the mission of proclaiming the reign of God. In this Year of Consecrated Life, Pope Francis reminds us of the beauty and joy of consecrated life.
In our Dominican tradition the vow of obedience binds us to the observance of all three evangelical counsels: poverty, chastity and obedience. On Sunday Sister Chela made public her response to the call to consecrated life when she professed her lifelong commitment.
We celebrate this awesome moment of trust and hope, as we welcome her to joyful sisterhood based on the shared blessings of faith and the mutual enjoyment of the lives and gifts of each other.
