Dominican Center at Marywood is taking steps to protect the health and wellbeing of Sister residents at Marywood — as well as visitors to the Marywood campus. Please check back for ongoing updates. Below are details regarding Dominican Center’s conferences and retreats, transformative learning programs and retreats, Bookstore, Art Gallery, and other sacred spaces that share environments with the Motherhouse of the Dominican Sisters~Grand Rapids.
In an effort to mitigate the risks of spreading COVID-19, we have taken the following actions:
Marywood Campus is CLOSED TO ALL VISITORS. This includes:
- Choir, musicians, prayer, Taize, Lectio, Centering Prayer, Meditation Chapel, and all personal prayer practices at Marywood
- Friends and family of Sisters
- Associates
Sunday Assembly is canceled until further notice and the Marywood chapels are closed to outside visitors.
Conference Center event reservations are suspended until further notice. Organizations that have booked with Dominican Center were contacted directly to discuss event postponement and rescheduling details.
Dominican Center programs and retreat offerings are now held virtually. In a few instances, Dominican Center will offer blended options for gathering, but only when social distancing and mask-wearing can be assured. See our online transformative learning programs and retreats here.
Spiritual Direction appointments at Dominican Center are suspended. Please contact your Spiritual Director directly regarding alternative ways to receive spiritual direction. Dominican Center has communicated with Spiritual Directors to encourage them to find alternative ways to meet with their directees. Day and overnight retreat rooms are closed. Future personal day and retreat bookings are suspended until further notice.
The Dominican Center Bookstore and Art Gallery are closed until further notice.
