“If the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is Thank You, it will be enough.” ~ Meister Eckhart, Dominican theologian and mystic

Today, we lift our minds and hearts in Thanksgiving.

For the Gift of Life:
its births, deaths, and rebirths that foster our growth,
its letting go and holding on that provide us with perspective,
its joys and disappointments that lead us to wisdom,
its summons to inclusivity and diversity that promote the common good.
For Life, we thank you, O God.

For the Gift of Earth:
its waters, plants, fruits, and harvests that feed us,
its seasonal changes and weather patterns that alter our lives,
its fragility that calls us to respect and heal its wounds.
its beauty that keeps us standing in awe and wonder.
For Earth, we thank you, O God.

For the Gift of Friendship:
its blessing of support and challenge that keep us balanced,
its bond that stretches us to open our arms wide,
its companionship that allows us to welcome strangers in need,
its network that keeps us globally connected.
For Friendship, we thank you, O God.

For the Gift of the Dominican Family:
its Sisters, Friars, Brothers, Nuns, Laity and Associates
who carry on the Mission of Study, Service, Prayer, and Community
by living the words Laudare, Benedicere, Praedicare
with an attitude of Gratitude.

For our Dominican Family, we thank you, O God.
