This is the night . . .
On this blessed night
we move from darkness to light,
from languishing in the suffering of this world
into hope and freedom in the Resurrected Christ.
On this blessed night
we remember from Whom we come,
the Giver of Life and Lover of all creation.
On this blessed night
our hearts beat in unison with the rhythm of the Universe,
rejoicing in the solidarity of our One Created Being.
On this truly blessed night,
the things of heaven are wed to those of earth,
and the divine to the human.
May we relish the joy of this night
and continue to sing the song
of compassion and peace throughout all the earth.
