On Saturday evening, Sept. 19 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Dominican Center at Marywood welcomes thought leader Bruce Friedrich… to a conversation about his belief that that concern for humans, the environment, and animals are interrelated. He will reflect on how these concerns animate the way he lives out his faith. Bruce will share how his faith and spiritual awareness have inspired his journey and led to his conviction and response, both personally and professionally, especially in the areas of animal advocacy and food justice. He will draw from Pope Francis’ most recent Encyclical, Laudato Si’ On Care for Our Common Home throughout his presentation.
Bruce is director of policy and engagement for Farm Sanctuary, a national farm animal protection organization. Previously, he was vice president for campaigns at PETA; designed and taught social justice-based curriculum in intercity Baltimore with Teach for America; worked for Dorothy Day Catholic Worker in Washington D.C.
