Jubilee…shout with joy to God for my one, wild, wonderful life! All has been GIFT!

My parents, sisters and brothers, Dominican family, teachers, friends, and the persons of various ages, cultures, geography, and faiths — All have abundantly blessed my years. For past and ongoing spiritual and intellectual offerings, for travel experiences, for outdoor adventures and active sports, for health and energy – there is so much to be thankful for.

My life’s desire has been and is — to praise, to bless, and to preach by my presence, actions, and words, the love of Jesus Christ.”

I was born on February 1, 1937, the last of twelve children, at our farm home near Beal City, Michigan. The Dominican Sisters taught me in the first two grades; the remaining years were in public education with religion classes worked into the day or week. I attended Central Michigan College for a year and worked in an office during the summer with plans to return to college in the fall with a new major. In July a Dominican Sister I had met on a high school trip invited me to consider a religious vocation. That was my CALL, not one I had considered or desired, but one that was strong and encouraging. My new life’s journey with the Grand Rapids Dominicans began September 3, 1955.

After thirteen years of teaching high school, I began parish and campus ministry, which took me to New Mexico, Alaska, South Carolina, Idaho, West Virginia, and Montana.

All has been GIFT! May my heart and hands always be ready to share God’s faithful love each day.
