“Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever.”

~ Psalm 105

Celebrating 70 years as a Grand Rapids Dominican is a gift I couldn’t imagine back when I discerned the call to be a Sister. The seed for becoming a Sister was planted when I was a student at Saint Michael’s School in Maple Grove (New Lothrop).

The transition from a rural farming area to the city of Grand Rapids was challenging. The Sisters lovingly welcomed me in adjusting to the city as well as welcoming me to my “new family’’.

I enjoyed my many years of teaching both in city and rural environments. Math was the focus of my teaching career, and it gave me great pleasure. All these years have been enjoyable working with students. My years of working with so many students, teachers, administrators, and parents has truly been a blessing.
