Last week marked a moment in time where we at Dominican Center paused to celebrate Kit Fessenden whose unwavering spirit, generous heart, and quiet strength have shaped the Dominican Center Marywood in countless meaningful ways for the past 15 years. Kit has served not just as a first touchpoint for all who come and as a colleague, but as a true embodiment of Dominican
hospitality, wisdom, and presence.

Through her dedication, Kit helped create a space where seekers found peace, learners found inspiration, and all who entered or called on the phone were greeted with care and compassion. Her work has been more than a role—it’s been a ministry of welcome, listening, and love.

Now, as Kit transitions to a new chapter in her journey—serving as a presence of hospitality and welcome at the Sisters’ Marywood residence—we celebrate not an ending, but a beautiful evolution. In this new space, Kit will continue her gift of presence, greeting others with the same warmth and kindness that has long been her signature.

Kit’s legacy at Dominican Center is written into the walls, the programs, and the hearts of those who walk through its doors. And as she steps into her new role, we know she will carry the same light—gentle, grounded, and guiding.

With deepest gratitude and abundant blessings, we honor Kit’s past service and celebrate her continued journey of love and hospitality.

If you wish to contact her, drop by the front desk of the Marywood residence at 111 Lakeside Dr NE, Grand Rapids, MI or call her there at 616-514-3343!
