Float Cook (Part-Time)

The Dominican Sisters – Grand Rapids are seeking a part-time Float Cook. Position responsibilities include preparing meals for residents and the Conference Center on the Marywood Campus and using standardized recipes to prep and cook various fruits, vegetables, proteins and the occasional baking of desserts.


  • Must have previous experience operating basic commercial food equipment.
  • Preferably 3 years of experience of professional cooking.
  • Formal culinary training is preferred.
  • Must have knowledge of Serve Safe practices and basic mathematics.
  • Must be able to function independently and in a team, have a positive attitude and willing to learn.
  • Must be able to communicate, read, write and follow instructions in English when job specific duties require the described communications to be applied/performed.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and stand up to 8 hours a day.

This position is 24 hours per week, every Friday, Saturday and Sunday (alternating schedules 8 am-4:30pm and 10:30am- 7pm….no late nights). This also includes some holidays.
