Director of Facilities and Operations (Full-Time)
The Dominican Sisters ~ Grand Rapids is seeking a full-time Director of Facilities and Operations to provide leadership of operational services ensuring that the mission, vision, and values of the Dominican Sisters ~ Grand Rapids are reflected in the management, stewardship, and actions of operations for both the campus and off campus properties.
Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership to the organization to develop and implement policies and procedures for operations which support the values of Dominican Sisters ~ Grand Rapids.
- Reviews operations policies and procedures at least annually and makes recommendations for change to the Leadership Team of the Congregation.
- Meets weekly with the Prioress regarding updates, new organizational developments and/or problems. Meets quarterly with the Leadership Team.
- Participates in monthly meetings of the Campus Directors Leadership Group (CDLG).
- Supervises and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all operational services.
- Ensures that federal, state, and local laws regarding safety, health and fire are implemented, and that professional standards and principles that apply to the operations on campus are observed and incorporated in policy and procedure manuals.
- Responsible for campus security in coordination with provider. (Presently Aquinas College)
- Collaborates with Human Resources and direct reports on the effective hiring, orientation, training, and evaluation of all operations staff.
- Oversees the continuous improvement of campus operations and monitors data to ensure the efficiency and efficacy of the systems, implementation of best practices, and improved delivery of services.
- Fosters collaboration, consensus building and conflict resolution in addressing problems of operational staff and/or delivery of services.
- Ensures that relevant policies and procedures are communicated to staff, lessees, lessors, and residents.
- Coordinates the master planning, visioning, and strategic planning process of the organization in conjunction with the Leadership Team.
- Ensures development and maintenance of sound relationships and contractual agreements with lessees, lessors, vendors, and other partners connected with the operations of the congregation.
- Works with attorneys, regulatory agencies, and others in the delivery of professional services to the organization, as needed.
- Works with the CFO and direct reports on budgets and capital asset planning.
- Collaborates with the CFO on property/casualty insurance issues.
- Must be able to communicate clearly with staff and residents.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, management, healthcare, eldercare, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
- At least ten years of experience in key supervisory or administrative positions.
- Experience in long term care or other health related profession is a plus.
- Ability to operate various computer software and programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and proprietary programs at an advanced level.
Physical Demands:
- The position is mostly sedentary, requiring frequent operation of computer and other office machinery.
