In the tradition of St. Dominic and St. Catherine of Siena, The Dominican Sisters ~ Grand Rapids seek to live the Gospel as channels of the hands and heart of Christ in a world which is often unjust and brutal for many of our sisters and brothers.

Our personal and communal way of life is guided by vows of Obedience, Celibacy and Poverty.

Obedience: We listen for the calm whisperings as well as the call of God, responding with love and compassion to our global brothers and sisters in need. This is what we do.

Celibacy: Our love is an inclusive love. We strive to be open and loving to each person; to rise to the challenges of being available and willing to respond to the needs of all God’s people. This is who we are.

Poverty: We live simply, conserving and caring for all life on earth. We share what we have with those in need. This is how we live.
