Sister Pat's Favorite Recipe

Quantity: Makes enough for 12-20 rolls. Can be made ahead and frozen for up to 3 months.

2 Tablespoons active dry yeast
1/2 cup warm water
2 cups creamed cottage cheese
2 Tablespoons soft butter
1/2 teaspoons baking soda
2 eggs
4 teaspoons dill seed
2 Tablespoons instant, minced onion
1/2 cup sugar
2 teaspoons salt
5-6 cups sifted flour

Prepare yeast in large mixing bowl. Add heated cottage cheese and next 7 ingredients. Blend well. Add flour to form stiff dough. Allow to rise until double in bulk. Beat down and put in baking dish or form into rolls, let rise one hour before baking. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes for casserole, 25-30 minutes for rolls. Brush with soft butter and sprinkle with garlic salt.
Options: You can add 1 Tablespoon of flax seed, wheat germ, or caraway seed, etc. Because of the cottage cheese, this recipe has added protein.
