our ministry

Companions on the journey, we feed the hungry, house the homeless, visit the imprisoned; educate students, counsel the sick and lonely.

partners in parenting

Sister Marguerite Cool and Sister Jean Kramer are the co-founders of Partners in Parenting. They help more than 8,000 parents enhance skills in managing anger, modeling positive behavior, discipline, dealing with stress and many other challenges that parents encounter.

Many people can use help with the skills they need to deal with children. The two Sisters work as a team when they meet with parents one-on-one or in small group settings where they provide information, skills and support. They have gone on the road throughout Michigan in a bus equipped to accommodate parent meetings in the back section, and activities for younger children in the front area.

Partners in Parenting takes call-in appointments and referrals from area agencies and schools to provide parenting classes that are crafted to meet the individual needs of families. The Sisters use a variety of methods to help families build healthy and fulfilled relationships. Sisters Jean and Marguerite work with people from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds, and also work with two-parent and single-parent families. Sister Marguerite says that there are more and more single dads and this is very encouraging because these are dads who really want to see their kids and know how to care for them.
