Dominican Volunteers USA offer an opportunity to deepen spiritual life while helping others. Dominican volunteers live in community with vowed Dominican Sisters and work side-by-side with those who are struggling to provide for themselves and their families. Volunteers work wherever people live: metropolitan, suburban and rural locales. While completing ten months of service, Dominican Volunteers carry out acts of community service that are suited to their own specific personal gifts and expertise such as: teacher, community organizer, youth worker, health care worker, peace and justice advocates and other areas as needs arise.
The Dominican Volunteers USA program is open to single or married women and men. Volunteers must complete two years of college or have equivalent work experience. They must also attend a one-week orientation session.
