Dominican Chapel/Marywood
is a sacred space that welcomes all for prayer and quiet. A diverse community gathers for Sunday Eucharist to celebrate God's saving love in our daily lives. Rooted in Dominican Spirituality, the assembly promotes inclusive liturgy, the preaching mission and empowerment for service. Nourished by God's Word and by Eucharist we go forth to serve God.
Chapel of the Word
is located in the Marywood Health Center and provides a welcoming, prayerful environment for all. The Dominican traditions are evident in the liturgical design and artwork. It is a sacred space -- serene and contemplative. As the seasons change, so too does the light and landscape of our campus.
The chapel is handicap accessible to aid Sisters who are confined to wheelchairs so those using walkers or canes have access to prayer as part of the assembly. They may also view services in their rooms via closed-circuit TV. Improved accommodations for the hearing and visually impaired are in place.
Liturgical Prayer
is an essential way in which we Dominican Sisters ~ Grand Rapids live out our charism. The richness of our liturgical prayer grounds us in Holy Mystery and helps us to be authentic in today's world. As Domincan Sisters ~ Grand Rapids, we have been in the forefront of good liturgy. Today we continue to claim our liturgical action as a unique opportunity to model and foster the Church and spirit of Vatican II. The quality of preaching, musical leadership and inclusivity in roles and relationships in the gathered assembly are of primary importance to us.

Both chapels were designed by liturgical designers Barbara Chenicek, OP and Rita Schiltz, OP, INAI Studio, Adrian, Michigan.
