Learning Living from the Dying

The dying have much to teach us about life and faith. In their struggle, suffering and ultimate surrender, they reveal the face of Christ. This session will share insights about the scriptures, the stations of the cross and the paschal mystery through observing the experience of the dying.
Classroom Environment: Safeguarding the Dignity of Students by Sr. Ann Walters, OP
Presenting the Biblical Vision as the source of the meaning of human dignity, the workshop through an interactive process, will explore pragmatic ways to enhance the dignity of every student. It is the goal of the workshop to have participants leave with a deeper understanding of their own dignity as well as ideas of how to develop the students’ spirituality that will safeguard their own human dignity and the dignity of their classmates.
The People Wish to See Jesus: Teachings of Pope Francis for Teachers by Sr. Diane Zerfas, OP
Using the homilies and workshops of Pope Francis when he was the chief catechist of Buenos Aires, we will explore his insights, encouragements and spirit of joy as teachers who reveal the face of Christ. We will especially focus on his fundamental aspects of the spiritual life for teachers. I hope to invite those who teach to focus on the person of Jesus, using the energy and joy that Pope Francis has modeled for the Church and the world.
